The fashion industry has been long plagued with accusations of being non-inclusive of real body shapes, sizes and colour. A rising social consciousness of inclusivity has given rise to the body positivity movement and this is reflected in fashion today. In fact, fashion is one of the strongest tools of expression in the body positivity community with ‘fashion for all sizes’ being the underlying motto. If you have ever been at an Indian wedding, or a ceremony in an Indian house, the first thing that will undoubtedly strike your eyes is the vivacious colour, the various styles and the elaborate drapes. With every passing season, Indian outfits have been seeing a wave of change – from digital prints in the clothing material to Indo-western fusion outfits, fashion, especially with respect to Indian outfits has been evolving.
