Indian Wedding Attire

The Indian bridal scene is ever-evolving with its drapes, layers, colours and tiers. The latest collection is quintessential and celebrates uniqueness. Here’s what is setting the couture and fashion stage on fire in 2020.

Feathered Fantasy

Gone are the days when minimalism was in. Now think fancy and flaunt all you’ve got. This is the time to go big with ruffles, layers, frills, tiers, sparkles and feathers. Let go and let your inner diva come alive. International Indian designer dresses in the UK and national runways are excited about celebrating feathers in all sizes and colours.

Oodles of Layers and Sparkles

Designers like Sumona Parekh and Amit Aggarwal are creating bridal looks that are voluminous and larger than normal. It’s all about grabbing attention and making heads turn. No more subtlety and quiet elegance. The 2020 trend this festive season is to trust the tiers and layers as well as indulge in some bling, glitz and sparkle. Nothing makes a woman truly mesmerizing like a whole lot of shimmer and shine. The new bridal line boasts of some truly glamorous eclectic pieces.

Flower Power and Anti- Traditional

One thing that never goes out of fashion are flowers; they seem to get bigger and bolder by the year. Season after season flowers continues to be the mainstay of wedding attire. Designers such as Rahul Mishra, Gaurav Gupta, Bhumika, Tarun Tahiliani are creating outfits that involve intricate and delicate flower embroidery, embellishments and handwork. The popular Indian designer dresses in the UK boast of modern luxury and flower power. Another shift that is taking place in 2020 is to break tradition. Why stick to wearing a traditional lehenga when you have a plethora of alternative choices to choose from. With wedding fashions becoming the ultimate melting pot of fashion and style, it’s only fair to try something different, go bold and be different.

Go Bold or Classic

Sangeet nights, reception celebrations are an excuse to splurge and go wild. Opt for a luxurious ensemble or low-high skin gowns to add to a celebratory Sport minis to the pool party or an Indo western jacket to a rave reception party. 2020 also celebrates the classic sari, and the humble ensemble has been revived in tiered mint green and sparkly eye-catching designs.

Haute Blouses

The new-age bride is not afraid to flaunt her fit bod or wear extravagant blouses. This year choose from statement blouses with daring necklines, fancy sleeves, eccentric patterns and classic cuts. Indian designer dresses in the UK also sport mix n match styles to create an attire that is truly you. It is time to experiment and take a risk.

The Indian bridal attire has become more versatile, hot, practical and fun. There are no limits to what you can wear to an Indian wedding.
